Burt and Myra GoldBurton (Burt) Gold, his wife Myra, their two children, and their four grandchildren were all born at Sinai Hospital. The staff members at Sinai feel like family to them, they say. In thanks for the exceptional care that they have received over the years, the Golds have made a bequest in their will to support Sinai far into the future.

When Burt faced some health issues in 2016, the Golds were so grateful that Sinai was practically in their backyard. “We have always loved Sinai and received world-class care there,” they agree. “It is so warm and welcoming, and we have always felt comforted by its roots in the Jewish faith.”

Burt is thankful to the staff at Sinai for helping him conquer all of his medical challenges in the last two years. He had a pacemaker implanted in October 2016, he had double pneumonia, and then he had Legionnaires’ disease for 3½ weeks. The Golds feel that Sinai saved Burt’s life. To thank everyone for their wonderful care, when he left, Burt bought lunch for 40 staff members—from Attman’s Deli, of course!

They were overwhelmed and touched that every staff member they encountered was helpful, polite, and responsive. By supporting Sinai Hospital in their estate plan, they can ensure that others experience the same excellent care. Given the hospital’s health care mission, their gift is sure to save someone else’s life one day.
